Brookside Animal Clinic
Brookside Animal Clinic has been a provider of quality pet care to the south Kansas City community from the same location for the last 50+ years. Veterinarians, Steven L. Smith and Teri L. Schenkelberg have a combined 70+ years of experience in companion animal practice. Brookside Animal Clinic operates it's own diagnostic laboratory, offers digital radiographic and ultrasound imaging services, advanced carbon dioxide laser surgical and cold K-Laser therapeutic procedures. Our dedicated support staff, also with over 50 years of experience, is ready to assist you with your pet's health care questions or needs.
Brookside's veterinarians are very active supporting the community by performing hundreds of spays and neuters in cooperation with Another Chance Pet Rescue. Doctors Smith and Schenkelberg are committed to continuing their education by attending scientific programs well in excess of the level required to maintain state license. Our veterinarians also subscribe to and utilize a continually updated on-line veterinary medical database that has worldwide distribution for researching complexities of the illnesses that may affect our patients.
Cathy Harman, professional groomer, is also a Certified Veterinary Technician. Her training allows her to recognize many potential health problems in their early stages and alert you and our doctors. She offers her services to all breeds of dogs, and cats. Cathy will take the time to meet with you personally to discuss your pet's grooming procedure to help insure that the final look meets your expectations.
Dogs that board with us are taken outdoors for a leashed walk in our designated exercise area at least twice daily without any additional service charges. Cats are allowed an indoor exercise opportunity each day they are with us.
Finally, we wish to make it known that our clinic is willing to work within a full range of budgets for health care so that all of the pets presented with illness concerns will receive treatment options.
